Obituary for Mildred E. Flynn

Mildred E. Flynn, 92, of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away on January 13, 2017 at The Pines of Poughkeepsie. She was born on August 20, 1924 in Poughkeepsie, NY, the daughter of Raymond A. & Wilhelmina "Minnie" Bernhard Parsons. She was a graduate of the former Nativity Grade School and Poughkeepsie High School Class of 1942.
Mildred was married to Raymond Kelly and Frank A. Flynn who both predeceased her. She was employed by the New York State Division of Parole as a Sr. Stenographer in Poughkeepsie ,Vassar Bros. Medical Center as a Medical Transcriptionist for 25 years and in her early working life worked as a stenographer for Dorsey Gage .
She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and was a former Officer in the Catholic Daughters of America Court Irenita #69. Mildred was loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her sons: Brian Kelly of Hyde Park, NY; Patrick(Laurie)Flynn of Hyde Park, NY; Timothy(Kathi)Flynn of Poughkeepsie, NY; Dennis Flynn of Hyde Park, NY; Michael (Jane)Flynn of Poughkeepsie, NY and son: Brendan Flynn and long time companion JoAnne Lawrence of Poughkeepsie, NY. There are 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren
visitation will be Tuesday, January 17, 2017, 4-7 PM at Wm. G. Miller & Son F.H., Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at 10AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 15 Mill St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Burial will follow in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to: St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
