Obituary for Ferdinand L "Fred" Penzetta

Ferdinand "Fred" L. Penzetta, 79 of Wappingers Falls, NY passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Fred was born on June 2, 1937 in the Bronx, NY to the late Pasquale and Ergeae DiVizio Penzetta . He married the love of his life, the former Sally A. Kufs on February 8, 1959 at Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie, NY who predeceased him on November 10, 2004.

A local resident, Fred was employed by IBM East Fishkill as an Engineer. After his retirement, he worked as a starter at the Dutchess Golf & Country Club. Fred was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club and St. Columba Church. He was a avid golfer with a hole-in-one and owned a cabin at Fish Creek Ponds in Saranac, NY where he loved spending time with his children and great grandchildren. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Fred is survived by his sons Mark and his wife Cindy Penzetta of Port Charlotte, Fl, Scott Penzetta & Sue Courtenary of Poughkeepsie, NY, his daughter LoriAnn and husband Robert Salem of LaGrange, NY, his grandchildren Alex, who predeceased Fred, Sarah, Kimberly, Corrine, Benjamin, Kassandra and Emily as well as great granddaughter AubreySally, 2 nieces, 1 nephew and best friend and cousin Anthony and wife Barbara Penzetta of Beacon, NY. Fred is predeceased by his sister Phyllis DeCandia.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1:00pm at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533. Burial will follow at St. Denis Cemetery in the family plot. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
