I was fortunate to have met and worked with Kurt (and Lore) Grishman during my tenure with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic's administration in the 1980's. I learned much from both of them and add my condolences. Kurt was a most gracious and insistent teacher, a dedicated musician and tireless advocate for the traditions he loved. Our HV community was indeed lucky to have had him among us for so long. His musical children will endeavor to carry on his steadfast commitment. Thank you, Kurt, for your kindness, gentle strength, and excellent example of survival in a difficult world.
