Philip A. Cerniglia, 62, a resident of East Fishkill for the past 28 years and previously of Poughkeepsie NY, died at home on Thursday, December 28, 2017.
Mr. Cerniglia, was a 1969 graduate of Holy Trinity, 1973 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes, 1975 graduate of Dutchess Community College, and a 1979 graduate of the Pratt Institute of Architecture. With over 30 years of Architectural experience, Mr. Cerniglia successfully managed his own firm for 23 years, and most recently became a partner and Senior Project Director of Healthcare for Lothrop Associates LLP in White Plains NY.
A member of the American Institute of Architects “AIA”, Environmental Standards Council for Health Design, and Mid-Hudson Patterns for Progress, Mr. Cerniglia also served on the Board of Directors for the Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Born in Poughkeepsie NY on February 12, 1955, he was the son of Cecilia A. Hedinger, Philip Cerniglia and step father William J. Elliott.
On June 27, 1987, he married Gloria N. Sciscenti of East Fishkill. They were happily married for 30 years. Mrs. Cerniglia survives at home.
In addition to his wife Gloria N. Cerniglia, he is survived by his mother Cecilia A. Elliott, son Jordan W. Cerniglia, step son Brian M. Areno, step granddaughter Esmee Milan Areno, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Philip Cerniglia, and step father, William J. Elliott.
Calling hours will be Thursday, January 4, 2018, between 4:00-8:00pm at the William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie NY.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main St., Poughkeepsie NY. Burial day and time will be announced at a later date.
