In 1969, together with his family, they migrated to the USA as 3rd preference professionals. He then joined Fame Fabrics and was sent by the company to IBM, New York for programming courses. Subsequently, he joined Covington Fabrics as a Data Processing Manager. He retired in 1999.

Virgilio attended classes at the Culinary Institute of America and had a passion for experimenting in different ethnic cuisine. An Irish friend once said Virgilio made the best Irish corned beef she’s ever had! His homemade langoniza, a Philippine sausage, was a particular favorite of his extended family.
