Obituary for Frank J. Lombardi

Frank J. Lombardi, 87 of Hyde Park, NY, passed away on January 12, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on November 28, 1930, the son of Giuseppe & Nancy Pinello Lombardi.
His wife Joan M. Wirhouski passed away on June 8, 2006. Frank was a business Professor at Dutchess Community College for 26 years. He received his MBA from SUNY Albany and was a US Navy Korean War Veteran.
He enjoyed many years as a member of the Crum Elbow Rod & Gun Club in Hyde Park, NY. He competed on numerous occasions against the West Point Cadet Shooting team and won some of the competitions in his category. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and competitive shooting. He walked 3-5 miles everyday at the Vanderbilt Mansion property and loved his dogs.
Survivors include his daughters: ; Mary Jane & (Kevin J.) Capuani of Salt Point, NY; Sue & (Kurt A.) Tallardy of Clinton Corners, NY; son : Frank J. Lombardi, Jr. & Kelly Angelo of Pleasant Valley, NY brother: Joseph Lombardi of Pleasant Valley, NY and sister: Josephine McGrath of Poughkeepsie, NY. Grandchildren include: Kurt, Jr. & Dana Tallardy. Marin & Kevin Capuani; Elyse & Frank Lombardi, III and a great-grandson: Hudson Tallardy. There are several Nieces and nephews. He is survived by his companion Pauline Rand.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 10-12 Noon, at the Wm. G. Miller & Son FH, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Services will be at 12 Noon in the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorial Donations may be made to: The American Heart Association, 301 Manchester Rd, Ste. 105, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
