Obituary for Carol A. Roosa

Carol A. Roosa passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie. She was 81 years old. Born in Englewood, NJ on December 13, 1936, Carol was the daughter of the late Ferdinand Fiedler Sr. and Amelia Dinkey. Carol was also predeceased by her brother, Ferdinand Jr.
Carol married the love of her life and soulmate, Roger F. Roosa at the Rosendale NY Reformed Church on June 22,1958. She is survived by Roger and her four children and ten grandchildren: Linda Pittounicos and husband Carlo of Paoli, PA and their two daughters, Samantha & Corey; Richard Roosa and wife Terri of Indialantic, FL and their two sons, Michael & Sean; Steven Roosa and wife Tina of Keller, TX and their three children, Jonathan, Daniel and Katie; Scott Roosa and wife Noreen of Indian Trail, NC and their three children, Colleen, Erin and Brendan. Carol is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Carol graduated in 1957 as an RN from the Union University School of Nursing in Albany. She worked at Albany General Hospital and then part time at Vassar Brothers Hospital after she got married and had children. Carol also worked full time at Riverside Women’s Health for over 17 years. Carol always showed unwavering compassion and love to her patients.
Carol was always a leader in her Christian walk including Elder in the Reformed Church and Deacon at Valley Christian Church in Hopewell Junction. She took courses from the Christian Life School of Theology and earned the Degree, Master of Divinity. She taught several women’s mentoring programs.
When Carol decided to retire she took up coloring ceramics and made Christmas Villages and Nativity Scenes for all her children and friends. She also taught ceramic painting classes for Valley Christian Church children who as adults today remember all the love Carol showed to them.
Calling hours will be held will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 2-5 PM at the William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A service will be held 5 PM following the visitation in the Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
