Condolences

Condolence From: Terri Mancinelli
Condolence: I want to extend my condolences to John's family. I worked with him and Bob at Daley Oil for five years. He was a kind, considerate and generous employer. May he rest in peace.

Condolence From: Alex Moffett
Condolence: John was a wonderful man and my father's friend for fifty years. When my family came back to Newburgh to visit my grandparents, he often came to visit and he my Dad would remember old times. John was always so kind and patient with myself and my sister when we were small children; he was very much like an uncle to us. I'll always remember his generosity and warmth.

Condolence From: Devra and Dave Mistretta
Condolence: Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel. John drew his strength from those daily interactions he had with those who treated him so kindly; from his friends at the Neptune Diner to his extensive group of friends from around the world. He often spoke of everyone who touched his life and our family has always felt extreme gratitude towards those that filled his life with such joy. Although our hearts are filled with sadness, we know that our memories are filled with the good times we have shared at "Camp", Thanksgivings, Communions, Mother's Days, Birthdays, and Holiday Celebrations.

For all of those who were touched by our beloved Uncle John, may the memories of your times spent with him bring you peace and know that he lives on in all of our hearts. He will be missed.

Condolence: John was a friend and also some one who was of great help to me for many years during my tenure as CEO of the Empire State Petroleum Asssociation. He served the association as a Board member with passion and commitment. Rest in peace!

Condolence From: Barrie Zimmerman
Condolence: John, a lifelong friend, will be especially missed. We shared experiences through elementary school, high school, Boy Scouts, and Orange County Community College. Later, we shared memories at NFA class reunions, in Maine with our friend Neill Moffett, John’s visit to Indiana, and pictures and stories about his travels to Australia. His professionalism in operating the family business is a credit to his keen business sense as well as his care for both employees and customers. He will be remembered as a thoughtful, respectful, and especially loyal friend.

Condolence: I work at the post office where John had a PO box. He was always so friendly. He was excited every year about his five week trips to Australia, and he sent us a postcard every week he was there ! I miss his smile and our chats. It's the sweet customers like John that make going to work every day a little easier. RIP, my friend. We all miss you.

Condolence From: Nigel Moffett
Condolence: John was more than a friend to my family for 57 years. He was a very special man who gave of himself to others selflessly and often, but never asked or accepted anything in return.

The entire Moffett family here in the U.S. and N. Ireland send our heartfelt sympathy to the Daley family.

Please know that John often shared with me his happiness for the times spent with Jane and her family.
I will forever hold and cherish my memories of John.
