Lucille Biever died of a brief illness on May 23 at Lutheran Care Center.
She was the daughter of Rene and Imelda (Choquette) Boucher born February 24, 1929 in Highgate, Vermont. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 1950 and later took graduate courses at St. Michael's College.
Lucille taught at South Burlington & Winooski High Schools. She also did social work in Boston for a private agency.
She married Duane Biever on August 22, 1964. They moved to Poughkeepsie where they both continued their careers as teachers. She taught at Arlington Middle School and retired in 1970. She continued with private tutoring in English as a second language, French and worked as literacy volunteer. She was involved in many programs Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, their friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter Jeanne of Poughkeepsie. Other survivors include her sisters Claire Gabso, Yvette Mazuzan (George). Her brothers Paul Boucher (Ellen), Gilbert Boucher, (Gemma). She was predeceased by her beloved husband Duane. Her brothers Germaine Boucher, Laurent Boucher USC, Revrend Maurice Boucher, Hertel Boucher, John Boucher and Bernard Boucher M.D.
She also is survived by sisters in law Opal Chaussende - Bardoux, Anita Boucher and Madeline Boucher as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 5-7PM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son F.H., Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10AM in Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
